Aramid fiber needle-punched felt exhibits excellent high-temperature resistance, capable of continuous operation at 180°C–204°C and withstanding instantaneous temperatures of 220°C–240°C. It offers high dimensional stability, with a thermal shrinkage rate of only about 1% at 230°C. It possesses superior fire and flame retardancy, featuring a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of 30; it neither spontaneously ignites nor supports combustion, only beginning to decompose and carbonize at 400°C. It demonstrates strong chemical corrosion resistance-particularly against alkalis-and moderate acid resistance, remaining stable against low-concentration acids and alkalis as well as most hydrocarbons.
Additionally, its typical physical specifications include: a basis weight of 500–550 g/m², a thickness of 2.0–2.4 mm, air permeability of 13–25 m³/(m²·min), warp tensile strength >900–1100 N/(5×20 cm), weft tensile strength >1200–1300 N/(5×20 cm), warp elongation of 25%, and weft elongation of 50%.
